Learn more about the Stone Pine in the Exhibition "The Stone Pine - a gifted Alpine Border-Liner" in Jerzens, Pitztal

The growth and development of the stone pine tree is one of the most spectacular events in nature.

The exhibition reveals that Stone Pines and humans have a lot in common and allows visitors to observe some of the most important life stages of the tree, from seed to tree, from tiny tot to golden age, and several phases in between. Moreover, you will learn about the wide-ranging uses of Stone Pine wood and its amazig health-promoting properties. At the cinema you can see the Sone Pine in breathtaking 3D.

The entrance in the "Gemeindezentrum" in Jerzens is for free and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Jausenbretter aus Zirbenholz in 2 verschiedenen Größen und mit verschiedenen Gravuren erhältlich

Neu in unserem Sortiment: Speziell für unsere Zirbenfans gibt es nun auch Holzbrettln in 2 verschiedenen Größen mit 5 verschiedenen Motiven. Holzbretter aus Zirbe sind in der Küche als Schneidebretter und auch für die Brotzeit bestens geeignet, denn das Institut für Genetik und allgemeine Biologie der Universität Salzburg hat die antibakterielle Wirkung von Zirbenholz nachgewiesen. In feuchter Umgebung hat Zirbenholz eine deutlich höhere bakterienhemmende Wirkung im Vergleich zu anderen Holzarten (Ahorn, Buche, Pappel & Fichte).
Nach einer Versuchszeit von 12-14 Stunden konnten einzig bei der Zirbe keine lebensfähigen Bakterien mehr nachgewiesen werden! Verantwortlich für die positiven Eigenschaften des Zirbenholzes ist das Pinosylvin das in hoher Konzentration im Holz und Harz vorkommt.
